Chief Flight Instructor Martin Le Roux NHDT Civil Engineering Martin got his first flying experience, when doing his Compulsory Military Training, when, as an Observation Post Officer he conducted observations from Kudu and Bosbok aircraft Finishing his military stunt, he started his PPL with Johan van Garderen in Parys, finishing it of in 1984 with the legendary Jim Davis. Having flown Cessna’s, Piper’s and the Grob 109B he faced the problem of no plane to hire when he moved to Grootfontein in 1986. His love for flying led him to buy his first Microlight in 1991. Pressure from friends made him do an Instructors Course with Geoff Dyer at Light Flight in 1994, where after he moved through the rankings to become a Grade 1 instructor. He still regularly visits Flying Schools where he furthers his training / ratings. He is certified on flexi wings (Trikes) and fix-wing aircraft (Nose wheel and Tail Draggers) and is booked to do a Gyro-course early in 2005. He has to date trained more than a hundred pilots (more than all the other instructors in Namibia combined) from all walks of life, both male and female. With more than 2000 instructors hours, no one can train you like he can
